Wow. Has it really been two weeks?! Where has the time gone? I have been busy to say the least. If it wasn't for the daily text message reminders that I've been delinquent in my blog updates I think it would of been even longer. I'm not going to name names or anything, but you know who you are! Payback ahead in the most subtle form. I'm sure you're wondering what I've been up to that I was too busy to ramble about my upcoming vacation. Let's say it together, "MATT".
Last weekend was Matt's birthday weekend. I decided that I would bake for his party. Three dozen tasty cupcakes & a batch of even tastier brownies later & the last thing I want to see is baked goods...tasty or not! I also had to clean and decorate for the party. Oh, and get lost in Nanuet for an afternoon because of my OCD mother & a GPS that doesn't GPS. Then we went to the city on Saturday to continue the celebrating. I also had to cook for a family in our church who just had a baby. Oh, and did I mention, Matt practically moved in? Sorry guys, if we're talking typing up a blog or spending time with Matt, I'm going to go with Matt. Not to mention it would probably take me about 4 tries to get each sentence typed out in full with Matt around. It would be an all day event. I'm blessed to have Matt here so much but it definitely takes some adjusting. He's awesome. He takes out the garbage without even being asked. How lucky am I? However, at times the garbage doesn't make it all the way to the dumpster, sometimes it lands outside the front door. That's fine and really doesn't bother me at all, that is until I step out my front door in the morning to head for work and nearly have a heart attack when the squirrel who has broken into the garbage bag is freaking out trying to get itself OUT of the garbage bag & take out my ankle that is a foot away from it! Who needs coffee? That'll wake you up real quick. Nothing like the smell of trash scattered across the lawn in the morning. I've also never watched so much Yankee baseball in my life. I think I'm developing a twitch. Having him here really is great... just we gotta work on the squirrel sneak attacks. Enough about that, lets get onto the fun stuff. Our Disney World vacation is 48 days away!!
Last I posted I talked a little about Food and Wine Festival. Well, now I'm gonna talk a lot about F&WF... because I can. What is Food & Wine Festival? Well, it's a fatty's tasty dream come true! Take it away Disney...

In addition to cultural cuisine, exhibits along the promenade showcase the entertainment and traditional crafts of several countries."
It's literally my favorite thing in the world...er...the actual world, not just Disney World. I love the atmosphere of it. I love being able to try new tasty foods without wasting an entire meal on it. I just love it. It's the best time to go to Disney World.
To explain it a little more in depth. For those who don't know (crazy I know) Epcot is broken up into two halves. "Future World" and "World Showcase". The World Showcase showcases eleven specific countries in the world... hence: World Showcase. Pretty self explanatory but... never mind. They have rides, stores, restaurants, etc all representing each country. During F&WF they put up 25 additional food booths to represent an additional 25 countries. That's a lot of tasty food! Ever want to be adventurous and try escargot without humiliating yourself in the middle of a restaurant and wasting a bunch of money? Well, the French pavilion happens to sell escargot during F&WF every year. You get three mini bread rolls that have the escargot inside. Perfect. There was three of them, my brother, mom & dad wanted to try it. I wasn't that brave... YET. They ordered them, found a bench in the shade and tried them. They all loved it. Tasted like sautéed mushrooms in a butter sauce with a roll. Donn Eric thought it was especially tasty. They sold me, it took a day, but I finally tried it and it was AWESOME! I would have NEVER tried it if it wasn't for F&WF. Oh, stop gaging. Really. It was good. Dare I say tasty even? That's just one of the many examples of the awesomeness of F&WF. They also have chef demonstrations, concerts, cooking classes, special merchandise, beer flights, wine & cheese tastings, etc. Who said Disney World was only for the kiddies??
To see a full map of all the countries and foods we'll be enjoying here.
That's a pretty good run down on Food & Wine Festival. I'm gonna get so fat! Each booth usually sells three - four tasty entrees, one is usually a tasty dessert. Then they have some beers and wines that complement each entree, again all from that specific country. Ever heard the term "drinking around the world"? This gets especially popular during F&WF since you go from having about 10 selections of beer & wine from 11 different countries to thirty-six different countries! That's a lot of alcohol. Can't wait! Nothing better than watching a bunch of drunks trying to navigate thru the World Showcase...

I was pretty pissed until I watched the drunk scottish ultimate warrior video. That was life changing.
You really have to get over your crazy obsession with hating the word "tasty". Get working on it cause it WILL be used on our vacation & I don't want to see you end up like Mr Ultimate Warrior in that video. ;)
